Just when I thought eid fun was over, life surprised me with something exciting! Work and university have resumed, and though I’ve always loved being busy, the sudden endless schedule has taken a negative toll on me. I am taking a six month course on archaeology owing to my love and curiosity for the people of the past, their lives, their architecture, and luckily, my university just announced a week’s trip to the ancient cities of Sindh, Pakistan! Am I thrilled or am I thrilled?! The plan included Makli first in the list, which is famous for the ancient cemetery that houses the bodies of some notable people of the past including monarchs and philosophers. Next Mohenjo-Daro, the largest settlements of the ancient Indus Valley civilization. “Our entire primary school life was spent studying about this place. It’s getting real guys!”, a friend had said. The list also included Thatta and Ranikot Fort. Sounds like a crazy plan to me. I mean, I’ve always had a thing for ancient sites. However, there is only one thing that worries me…
